Wolves to the Slaughter...?
Another massive weekend this weekend, with a 3pm kick off v Wolves today, this will be kicking off on the back of another massive game for us, in which we aren't even playing er... in.
Following our amazing 2-2 draw with Barcelona in midweek, you might have heard we've got yet another load of injuries with our captain Fabregas, Gallas, Arshavin now injured for what could be the rest of the season. This leaves Wenger with not a lot of choices, but he could change things around and rest players ahead of the game in the Nou Camp next week...
Quick shout out to all the players that worked their knackers off in the game on Wednesday, Fabregas played the captains role, Theo came on and ran riot down the wing, and Vermaelen, and even Almunia were all amazing. If we can go to Barcelona and play with the fight and steel we found in the second half on Weds, then who knows, we could upset the apple cart form book, and get us into our second Champions League semi-final in 2 years...
Tottenham fans love us really...
Hazard to Arsenal...?
As you know, we are the only Arsenal site that doesn't comment on transfer speculation, but f*ck it, Lille striker Eden Hazard has said he would come to Arsenal if he were to leave his club. He's quoted as saying: "If one day I leave Lille, I will go to Real or Arsenal..."
ATVO Compo...
The answer to the Alan Smith competition was of course Martin Hayes... not really, it was Alan Smith. The winner of the 6 month subscription to ATVO is James Wilson, I will sort this all out via email over the next few days... well done Squire!
French Fancy...
Raymond Dominatrix has slammed Sir Wenger on his gamble to play William Gallas against Barcelona, a game which resulted in Gallas being out now for four weeks or thereabouts.
Dominatrix has been saying that Wenger shouldn't have gambled on the Frenchmans fitness, but as expected, Wenger hit back: "We have to first take care of the interests of Arsenal. He is paid by the club – not the French national team. We have to use the players when they declare themselves fit. I don’t think it will cost him his World Cup. He declared himself fit and I have the reports from the rehabilitation centre where he worked for 10 days..."
Pep Expects Tough Game...
Following the self-confessed best half an hour of his managerial reign, Pep Guardiola has said that they won't be expecting a repeat next week in Spain. He's said: "Eleven shots in 15 minutes as happened against Arsenal only occurs once in a lifetime, we can’t go out expecting a repetition. We have to try and maintain the same work-rate as the first half against Arsenal..."
