Special Moments...
OUR captain, Cesc Fabregas has been playing down the prank played on him by his Spanish team mates on Monday night. You may not have heard, but during the celebrations, a Barcelona shirt was pulled over his head in front of a live audience of millions and billions.
Cesc said: "These are things that happen at special moments, and I don't think it should be gone on about much more because it was just another anecdote of a great night, a great celebration. (he then went a little weird...) There are times we do not even know what we do, so everything can be forgiven,. Pepe took me there, the truth is that I didn't know anything like that was going to happen and so I was a bit surprised. At first I thought it was a flag or something, but it's nothing. You had to enjoy it and if it's a way to have fun, it's nothing..."
Agreed, give him a break, he knew not of what he did.
Amen my brothers.
Eduardo Will Be Back...
Not the taliscrabic crustacean of ArsenalShorts fame, he's long gone, they collected the bins on Tuesday, but our Croatian sensation, Eduardo da Silva.
Arsene Wenger is expecting big things from the striker following his rehabilitation and said: "Eduardo is an Arsenal player and I am expecting a lot from him this season. He had a terrible injury – he went through hell – but I think his workrate is fantastic and his determination, which is exceptional, will be of great use to Arsenal..."
It's a Keeper...
While Schwarzer has now denied he's had a medical but not ruled out a move after his holiday, Fiorentina are apparently on the verge of signing Artur Boruc from Celtic, which merry-go-roundly suggest Sebastien Frey is on his way out and obviously as he is a perenniel linked player along with Appiah and Mexes et all, he's the obvious choice to replace Almunia... phew.
Update: NOT HAPPENING!! Fiorentina's club administrator Sandro Mencucci said: "The arrival of Boruc doesn't change anything. Sebastien is not for sale and Fiorentina does not wish to see him leave..."
Summery Summary...
On the subject of Schwarzer, we have apparently been told he will cost £4m by Fulham, and we've had 2 bids turned down already... Gallas could still return to the fold, and this is why van Persie hasn't yet been granted the number ten shirt which he wants...
